New Orkut mobile application (beta) for Java Phones

New Orkut Application for Java Phones Although Orkut had already optimized its mobile version, but that was mainly limited to Symbian phone users. Whereas all Java Phone users had to use old m.orkut.com to browse Orkut in an older fashion. But in this age of mobile computing, mobiles phone with EDGE/GPRS are becoming a major way to access Orkut for many users. So considering this, Orkut has finally launched a Java Based Mobile Application to offer Orkut’s core functionality to its users. Below are some features of this app

  • Upload photos to orkut on-the-go, directly from your phone.
  • View scraps, friends' updates, and photo albums while you're offline.
  • Share your orkut albums with all of your friends whether they use orkut or not (via SMS).
  • Easily call or SMS your orkut friends and address book contacts from within the app.
  • Get automatic updates when your friends change their contact information or orkut profiles.

Supported Models and Requirements:

This application is Java Based. So if your phone supports Java Platform [.jar files], J2ME or MIDP 2.0 then your phone should be able to run this. A way of knowing Java Compatibility of your phone is to check whether you are able to play .jar games! Overall all new phone from Nokia, Sony, Motorola should be able to run this App!
