[Update] How to Chat directly from Orkut

Orkut now has integrated chat feature.

If you have a gmail account and use that for orkutting then there is no need to login to your gmail account in order to chat with anyone. Features: If you are logged on to orkut and someone tries to chat with you then you will be able to view the chat from inside orkut as shown in the picture.

Also you can edit your status from the small icon lying just beside to your email address on the top right corner of your screen. See the picture for more assistance.

Or, you can just put your status from your Orkut Home-page by selecting the status bar just below your Display Picture.

Here's a video You cannot start chatting with some one from inside orkut. Orkut will show you this small pop-up screen only when someone tries to ping you in Gmail.
